GUS WUDRICH

It is with sad hearts, we announce the passing of Gustav “Gus” Egan Wudrich on October 7, 2018. Gus was born in 1927 on the family farm near Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. In 1935, at the age of eight years, the family moved to Southern Alberta, eventually settling in the Conquerville area. In 1951, Gus bought a farm west of Whitla and shortly thereafter met his life partner, Fern McFaul. They were married in 1953 and had five children: Debby, Mary Lou, Judy, Gordon and Wanda. Whitla was a great community in which to raise family. Gus and Fern farmed until 1990 and then moved to Seven Persons. Eventually, they moved to Medicine Hat and then to the Bow Island Pleasant View Lodge. Gus was predeceased by his parents Carl and Mary Wudrich; sisters, Alevena Kettles (Jack), Elsie Butler (Arnold), and his brothers, Andrew (Grace, Betty), Walter (Millie) and Rudy (Mary). Gus is survived by his wife Fern of 65 years, children Debby Stark, Mary Lou (Gerry) Hansen, Judy (Kelly) Van Ham, Gordon (Sue) Wudrich, and Wanda (Brent) Moncks; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Geddes and Lilly Dockrell, sisters-in-law, Betty Wudrich and Evelyn Meston, two brothers-in-law, Malcom Cook and Jim Sanderson along with numerous nieces and nephews. Farming was everything to Gus – he could hear weeds growing in his sleep! But, he also enjoyed the winters he and Fern spent in Palm Desert. In addition to his talent as a meticulous farmer, Gus enjoyed watching ball games, music, playing crib and above all, time spent with his family. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Bow Island Health Center. A special thank you to Tom and Marlene Noga for being such supportive dining room companions. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so on Saturday at the Bow Island Legion from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bow Island Legion (202 5th Ave E, Bow Island) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held. We, the family of Oswald (Ozzie) Jaster, sadly announce to his relatives, friends and acquaintances that our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather has left us to join his Savior. Along with his loving wife, Ellen, Ozzie leaves to mourn his passing: daughters, Shirley Leachman (Lloyd Doucette) and Donalda (David) Cormier; step-son, Garth (Shelley) Glass; step-daughter, Valerie (Bob) Knowlden; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ozzie was predeceased by his first wife, Carol; parents, Bertha and Jacob as well as his sister, Anne. Ozzie was born in Golden Prairie on July 7, 1921, where he lived on a farm with his parents and his sister. He was a part of a large, loving extended family who laughed freely and lived life joyfully. Ozzie enlisted with the RCAF during the war where he was trained as an Air Frame mechanic and he displayed his natural mechanical abilities. Following the war, Ozzie married Carol Glass and after a stint in agricultural college in Prince Albert, they returned to farming in Golden Prairie. They quickly learned this was not the life for them and Ozzie began his apprenticeship as an automobile mechanic and moved to Medicine Hat. He pursued this career for over 50 years working up to Service Manager in the automotive business in Medicine Hat. During his career, Ozzie apprenticed many mechanics and ensured the customer’s vehicles operated in top notch condition. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and was the head of the building committee that oversaw the construction of the new church on Sprague Way. He was also a member of the Southern Alberta Light Horse Regiment and the Lions Club. Ozzie and Carol were founding members of the Good Sam Club for RV’ers and met and traveled with many wonderful people. Throughout his long life, Ozzie was the father figure for Carol’s many siblings with the untimely death of their father. He provided guidance and was sought out for his clear thinking. After Carol’s death in 1988, Ozzie married Ellen Glass and they shared a wonderful life together traveling frequently and spending time with family and friends. Ozzie will be remembered for his ingenuity, love of life, ready smile and his loving commitment to his family. 1917 ~ MARY MARSHALL CAMPBELL ~ 2018

Mary Margaret Marshall Campbell of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at the age of 100 years. Mary leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jim Marshall (Lorine) and Robert (Darlene) Marshall; Robert’s children’s mother, Terry Meek; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Valentine “Val” Marshall; her second husband, Dr. Wilfred Campbell, son Archie Campbell, daughter Kay McCallum; her son, Richard Marshall; her parents, Bertrum and Isabella Richardson; and two brothers, Mel and Harold.
Mary Richardson was born at home in Medicine Hat, Alberta on October 28, 1917. She was the youngest of three children, with two older brothers Mel and Harold. Mary’s grandparents lived across the street from the bakery, and Mary and her family next door to it. Mary led a rather charmed life; she had plenty of friends and was a very talented and outgoing young woman. She attended Connaught School before Alexandra High School. She had many life-long friends from her school days.
When she was just sixteen-years-old, Mary met Val Marshall. They dated for two years and they married in 1937. Mary and Val were very active, belonging to several clubs and organizations, Moose Lodge, Shrine Club, ladies P.E.O., Rebecca Lodge and Rotary. Mary made Mac and Cheese nearly every Monday while Val was at Rotary and she knew how to make it good. Various versions of her mac and cheese are enjoyed to this day by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even her great-great grandchildren, she was a great cook.
Val and Mary owned and operated Val Marshall Printing Ltd. from the early 1950’s until Val passed on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1973. In October of 1973, Mary married Wilf Campbell, an old friend as well a long time family doctor. Together, they spent many great times with friends, traveled and enjoyed lots of very nice gatherings with their combined families until Wilf passed in 1986.
Not only was Mary a great home maker and incredible mother, she was also a very talented artist. Her paper toll projects were incredibly unique and something she was very skilled at. Mary spent the last decade of her life cruising the halls of River Ridge with one of her old high school friends Florence Gust. In the 100 years she lived, Mary made many wonderful friendships, many of which lasted a lifetime. She lived a beautiful, full life and was able to spend time with many of her great-children and get to know many great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her friendliness, her kindness and her love of decorating. She leaves a legacy four generations deep that is built on togetherness and love. What is truly remarkable is that Mary’s artistry and love for animals are apparent in each of the four generations.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his children Michelle “Mickey” (Kelly) Kimura of Coaldale and Shaun (Margaret) Mellen of Edmonton. Grandpa Fred will be forever missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren Spencer (Sarah) White of Barnwell and their family Jackalyn and Freddy; Tyler (Mercedes) White of Taber and their family Gallifrey and Amelia; Ariel White of Summerland, British Columbia; Jessica (Russell) Bridgeman of Fort McMurray and their family Bryn, Bentley and Brooks; Amie (Brad) Dieno of Edmonton and their family Kylie and Kacey; Angie Mellen of Saskatoon; Christie, Brandon and Kaylie Mellen of Edmonton. Fred will also be remembered with love and fondness by his sister Helene Taylor of Calgary, brother-in-law Jack Mitchell of Orleans, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Dolly Mellen, the love of his life; his father Fred Rawleigh Mellen and mother Mildred Gladys Mellen; his mother-in-law Viola Annon and father-in-law Joe Annon; sisters-in-law Ila Terry, Audrey Mitchell, Joanne Havens and Gerry Annon; brothers-in-law William “Bill” Taylor, Bus Terry, Rollie Havens and Wayne Annon.
Fred was born in Redcliff, but spent the first fourteen years of his life in the Village of Tilley where his parents operated a grocery store, Mellen’s Grocery.
In 1946, Fred moved to Bow Island with his parents where again, they operated a grocery store for many years. During his teenage years, he got into all sorts of hijinks. He also concluded that high school did not agree with him much, and dropped out in Grade eleven. It was interfering with his ability to play and organize baseball and hockey games. It was during this time that he met and started dating Dolly Annon, the smartest decision he ever made.
Fred and Dolly were married in 1956 and remained happily married until Dolly passed away in 2011. They loved to dance especially to swing music from the Big Band era.
In 1950, Fred began working in Grantham with the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA), a job which he held for a couple of years. He did survey work as a rodman. He would later work for the PFRA while stationed in Vauxhall. In 1954, he was hired by Alberta Agriculture (Irrigation Division) and moved back to Bow Island. He initially worked as an instrument man and draftsman. From 1966 to 1968, Fred attended the Irrigation Technology program at Olds College. In 1975, Fred was promoted to the position of Technologist 4, the only person at this level in Alberta Agriculture. Fred continued to work with the Irrigation Division until his retirement in early 1988.
In the early 1980s, Fred successfully completed the Economic Development Programme at the University of Waterloo. Then, from 1988 to approximately 2001, Fred worked part time as the Economic Development Officer for the Town of Bow Island. He was heavily involved in encouraging businesses to come to Bow Island including the Alberta Bean Growers and Spitz. He also worked tirelessly on the committee which prepared the Town’s updated history book (A History of Bow Island and Area: Sage Brush to Pivots).
Fred loved Bow Island and gave countless hours of his time to the community in various capacities. He served a term as Mayor commencing in 1971; he served as a Councillor on three separate occasions (1965 – 66, 1971, and from 1976 to end of the term); he was a volunteer firefighter for seventeen years; he coached baseball and hockey for many years and served in various executive roles. In 1980, Fred and Dolly were recognized for twenty years of service to the Bow Island Minor Baseball and Hockey Association. He was on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, and served on various other committees and organizations.
In 1988, Fred was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the Medicine Hat College. In 1992, Fred was awarded a Canada 125 medal.
In approximately 2012, Fred started to write ‘Down Memory Lane’ by “Old Fred Mellen”. These articles were published on a regular basis in the 40 Mile Commentator right up until the time of his passing.
Fred will be remembered by many as someone who got things done. He worked hard and expected everyone else to do the same. He had a true fighting spirit. But, he also loved to tell stories. He was an accomplished public speaker and could make people laugh. He enjoyed genealogy and desperately wanted to prove that he was Irish. And he loved all of those grandkids and great grandkids. May the memory of the “sucker tree” live on forever!
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Fred’s name may be made directly to the Bow Island Health Centre, Bag 3990, Bow Island, Alberta, T0K 0G0.
Special thanks to Dr. Woodruff who provided excellent care over the last number of years and Dr. Tawfeeq for his tremendous help in the past year. Finally, we truly appreciate the help of Bow Island Emergency Services and the Bow Island RCMP detachment on the evening of October 26, 2018.

In 1988, Darrell had the good fortune to meet and marry Kima Moore. Their children, Tamara, Lee, Jana and Sloan, were a source of great joy and pride for Darrell. He was an ardent sports fan who loved baseball, hockey, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Darrell was also a keen amateur astronomer. He loved puttering around the garden and tinkering with clocks. In the last few years you could often find Darrell sitting in the garage, visiting with friends and watching the world go by. Darrell is survived by Kima and by his children: Tamara (Benny), Lee (Heidi), Jana, and Sloan as well as three grandchildren, Arda, Karson, and London. Darrell is also survived by his father, John; his brothers, Dave (Lauralee) and Doug (Jaylene), and his sister, Nancy (Robert). He is remembered with affection by his many friends and by numerous Pierce and Skjei aunts, uncles and cousins. JESSIE MORRISON

Jessie’s life was celebrated this past Saturday as family and friends united in Cook’s chapel. The enchanting sound of Bagpipes filled the air at the end of the service and during a moment of reflection at graveside.

Our family is like a patchwork quilt
Each piece tightly stitched together,
To last in love throughout the years
Our family is forever.

Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

MELVIN DENNIS SACKMAN

July 30, 1941 – October 23, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvin Sackman, beloved husband, father and grandfather, at the age of 77 years. His memory will be forever cherished by his son, James Sackman, his wife, Sandy, and their children Danielle and Joel; his daughter, Linda Sackman (Dave Renz); honorary grandson, Mason Powers; his sisters, Diane (Vern) Friemark, Geraldine (Myron) Williamson, Karen (Phillip) Lounsbury; his brother, Rick (Tina) Sackman; his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Murk and Phillip (Noreen) Murk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin joins his wife of 53 years, Gladys; his parents, Daniel and Elvina; his sister, Victoria; his mother-in-law, Eva Murk; and his sisters-in-law, Fran Murk and Blanche Klink, to sing with the angels. Dad worked many jobs, mostly in construction, and then worked for the city before retiring. If someone ever needed a helping hand, dad was there. Dad loved music and could play just about any instrument. He played in several bands and had many fond memories, especially with the Rangers. Dad had to give it up as his hearing and health got worse, but loved trying to teach Danielle and Joel how to play the accordion. In 1994, dad's life changed immensely with the arrival of his first grandchild. It was like a new lease on life as he was so proud to be a grandpa and had no problem spoiling them as he claimed that was his job. Dad loved camping, going for coffee with his buddies and gardening. Dad took an interest in sports later in his life, as long as it was one that the grandkids were involved in. In dad's last couple of years, he took up painting. You are all invited to join his family and friends to celebrate his life and exchange stories on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Masterpiece Southland Meadows Retirement Home (Southland Drive S.E.). To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Melvin Sackman, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.

1986 ~ CARTER SCHLAHT ~ 2018

It is with saddened hearts, that the family of Carter Robert James Schlaht, beloved son of Alan and Laurel Schlaht of Bindloss, Alberta mourn his passing. Carter was born October 26, 1986 and passed on October 16, 2018. He was a caring and loving son and brother. Left to cherish Carter's memory is his sister, Jenna Schlaht of Edmonton; his grandmas, Tillie Schlaht of Medicine Hat and Nordis Maley of Swift Current; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Jack Schlaht of Medicine Hat and Russell Maley of Swift Current, SK.
Carter was born in Medicine Hat on October 26, 1986. He went to school in Bindloss and Acadia Valley, then graduated from Eagle Butte High School. He enjoyed many years of playing hockey in Burstall, SK. Being active in Bindloss 4-H Beef and Horse Club kept him busy. He was good at volleyball and track and field. Carter learned many skills through the different jobs that he had experienced, but he loved family farming most of all. He obtained his Class 1 truck driving license of which he was very proud. Most recently Carter was employed as a farm laborer in the Echo Dale area.
Standing over 6'4", Carter was a gentle giant of a man. His easy going nature and gift of listening was greatly appreciated. Carter's dry sense of humor made people smile. He loved the prairies and took pride in owning and maintaining his own farm. Carter was a nature lover and was happiest relaxing by the local river, hiking, fishing, or motorbiking. He had an interest in trucks and machinery. In 2013 Carter travelled to Perth, Australia. He also travelled to Mexico, Maui, Hawaii and all through western Canada.
During the 2017 Bindloss CFB wildfire, Carter fought bravely alongside his neighbors in order to protect their property. He did not hesitate when called a month later to fight fire in the neighboring Hilda community.
Carter quietly bore his condition of depression with great dignity. Over the years this affliction would appear and then retreat at various intervals. He seldom complained. Carter fell to the disease after a valiant effort to beat this adversity. Carter was deeply loved by his family and he loved his family in return. Carter will be forever missed and forever in our hearts. We love you Carter.
The family would like to thank everyone for their help and support. To name a few; Oyen and Redcliff RCMP, HALO, Les and Terry at Rangeland Helicopters for donating their aircraft, the Swenson family of Bindloss, Search and Rescue, and local surrounding communities.

ELAINE EARLA ADAMS

October 26, 1949 ~ November 2, 2018

“We are born from a quiet sleep and we die to a calm awaking.” – Zhuangzi

Elaine Earla Adams of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, passed away in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the age of 69 years. Elaine leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Erma; siblings, Valerie (Jim), Clayton (Diane) and Nancy (Wayne) as well as one niece and several nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Konstantyn in 2006. Elaine was born in Summerside, PEI., on October 26, 1949 to Erma (nee Bryanton) and the late Delmar Adams. She was raised near the ocean on PEI and lived a life filled with many happy memories… from being crowned Miss Kensington in 1967, playing piano and percussion in a brass band, being voted most classy dresser in school and onto completing an Advanced Travel program in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1973, she married Konstantyn Wenc, a handsome charismatic man with intelligence, wit and a spirit of adventure to match Elaine’s. She had a successful 35 year career in the travel industry, owned several agencies, travelled extensively and was a remarkable lady to meet. In every conceivable way, Elaine was a fully alive person, extremely organized with a keen attention to detail, physically beautiful, creative with a flare, a lover of art, theatre, music and respectful to all she encountered. Fearlessly different, Elaine’s resolute nature allowed her to speak her mind, clear her feelings and let the truth be known. She was a spiritual woman who experienced love through family, friends and the generosity she poured out to others. Her memory will live on in the lives of all those who had the privilege of meeting her. It’s fair to say that Elaine was a beautiful soul whose beauty, grace, style, strength and dignity shall not be forgotten… forever missed, but never lost to us. She was God’s gift to us and now her kind soul will get the abiding peace she so richly deserves. Special thanks to Dr. J. Foley. Dr. M. Wong and the Carmel Hospice for their exemplary care and support. In honouring Elaine’s wishes, her life will be silently remembered without the proceedings of a formal funeral. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at http://www.cooksouthland.com) If friends so desire, donations in memory of Elaine may be made to St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, 156 – 3 Street N.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1. 1986 ~ CARTER SCHLAHT ~ 2018

ROBERT (BOB) CATHCART

December 31, 1940 – November 2, 2018
With deep sadness, the family of Robert (Bob) Walter Cathcart wish to share, that on November 2, 2018 Bob took his place among those who have gained an ‘outside perspective’ on the life we have come to know on this earth. While it is sadness we feel in our hearts, it was relief to our Dad, Brother, Uncle, Granddad when his need to conclude his time here among us, was honoured.
Bob is predeceased by his mother (Winnifred ‘Freda’) and father (Robert Ernest ‘Ernie’) Cathcart and leaves to carry his life memories forward: his brother James Sydney Cathcart (Marilyn); children Sinda Cathcart (Iliana Anaya), Arlis Letang (Bill), Dawn Peppard (Walter), Melody Switzer (Dean) and Roger Metz; grandchildren Terrence Letang (April) and Luke Letang, Trent Peppard, Skyla Metz, Nicole Grimard, Don Grimard Jr. and nephews Mike Cathcart (Jillian) , Robert Cathcart, Shawn Cathcart (Stacey) and Brent Cathcart; along with great nephews, Nolan Cathcart (Shawn and Stacey) and Owen Cathcart (Mike and Jillian).
Bob, otherwise affectionately known as ‘Buddy, Cowboy Bob, Flop or Floppy’, had a radiance that very naturally drew many people into his life. Throughout his numerous careers (predominantly in mechanics, trucking and servicing in the Alberta oil patch industry), Bob made fast friends. It can safely be said, that if you had a friend in Bob then you made a friend for life, as his sense of loyalty ran deep. His infectious laughter and rich humour, offered people fortunate enough to be around Bob, a ‘lighter load’. Where things had a tendency to turn more serious or tense, was generally regarding the latest ‘bafoonery’ that the government of the day might be displaying. There was often no love lost on the ‘powers that be’, which Bob keenly announced through his years of labour activism, fighting for ‘what was fair, right and just’ in the workplace or in seeking compensation in times of need.
With that, keeping things light was highly valued to Bob. This could easily be achieved through simply sitting down to a conversation or good game of cribbage. He was an easily satisfied man, never expecting more than what was reasonable. His good nature, happy disposition and love for life, friends and family was evident to the end and we are deeply grateful for the time we were able to share with him in his closing days.
The family respectfully requests that any financial memorial be directed to an association whose focus is on assisting in the treatment of diabetes. While the family will hold a private memorial, we are confident Bob’s life will be celebrated for many years to come as people recount the beautiful ways ‘Buddy, Cowboy Bob, Flop or Floppy’ wove his way into their lives.
Rest well Dad, Brother, Uncle, Granddad and Friend, you have fought your fight, lived, loved, laughed and now we will carry your light in our hearts always.

CHRISTINE STAPLES

July 6, 1934 ~ November 3, 2018

Christine Agnes Staples passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat. Her strong faith made her passing very peaceful. Chris was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and recently a great-grandmother to Logan and Maxx. She was born in the Empress Hospital on July 6, 1934, to Helen and Louis Mahura. Chris was the third child of what would eventually be seven, growing up on a farm ten miles south of Acadia Valley. She went to Grant School in Acadia Valley and then continued her education at St. Theresa’s School in Medicine Hat. After finishing school, she moved to Calgary and worked as a secretary. On June 30, 1956, Chris married Bob Staples at St. Peter and Paul Church near Acadia Valley. The newlyweds settled into a home in the Social Plains district. The first night at the house was pretty wild when a chivaree was held culminating with her brother Ted, firing off a shotgun a little too close to the house with some of the pellets going through the eavestrough! Life quieted down and Chris settled into the role of farmwife and soon after, a mother. She talked fondly of these years, the kindness of the elderly neighbour ladies freely giving helpful advice on gardening, cooking and raising babies. As the years went by, she became the one giving the advice to the younger generation and she herself perfected more than a few recipes, most notably her homemade buns which if you ever had one and only one, you are the exception. In fact, the only major complaint wasn’t that there was no running water or power at the start, it was rattlesnakes and the dreaded night time trip to the outhouse. Years passed – more babies, good crops, bad crops and a move to a brand-new house with all the modern conveniences. The years of hard work finally paid off in the form of grandchildren who brought so much joy and laughter to Bob and Chris. They made one final move to their retirement home in Medicine Hat and through it all, she remained a dedicated wife and mother to the end. Chris will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years Bob; her children, Blaine (Leona) and their children, Lewis, Richard and Gerald; Glenda (Allen VandenBerg) and their children, Tolo Auva’a, Kolia Auva’a, Maureen VandenBerg, Eleanor (Michael) Chinook, and their son, Logan; Rob and his children, Jessie (Brad Lepp) and their son Maxx, Olivia (Preston) Mack and Emily and David (Jacquie Compeau). Also missing Chris are her siblings, Don (Maria) Mahura, Bert Mahura, Alouise (Harry) Henderson; brother-in-law, Bud Herman; sister-in-law, Erika Mahura as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Chris was predeceased by her son, Murray; parents, Louis and Helen; special aunt, Sophie Mahura; brother,Ted Mahura; sisters, Phyllis (Charles) Marten and Bev Herman as well as her sister-in-law, Kathy Muhura. The family wishes to thank all of the medical staff including the EMT’s, doctors, nurses and staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital; and finally to her caregivers at St. Joseph’s Home… her care could not have been any better. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the Vigil Prayers which will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be offered again starting one hour prior to the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Father Francis Tran celebrant. Memorial donations in Chris’ name may be made directly to St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, 156 – 3 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 5M; Medicine Hat Public Library, 414 – 1 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 8G2 or to the charity of one’s choice.
