1959 ~ LES TOTH ~ 2018
Leslie "Les" Toth, also known as Papa, beloved husband of Janet "Jake" Toth of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 at the age of 59 years. Les was born and raised in Swift Current, Sask. and even though the last 24 years have been in Medicine Hat, he’s always considered himself a Saskatchewan boy at heart. His support and passion for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Swift Current Broncos and the Philadelphia Flyers were all the same, no matter how their seasons where playing out. Les worked at Cypress Hills Cheese (Dairy Producers) in Swift Current until it closed in 1994. Employment then found Les and Janet and their family in Medicine Hat where he branched out from the Dairy Industry and found a great family at Bromley Mechanical. To Les, going to work each day was more than just showing up for a job, he really enjoyed his time with his Bromley family. Les’ pride and joy was his granddaughter Olivia “Peanut”. She lit up his life like no other and would always bring a huge smile to his face. May 8th of this year Les’ life was once again blessed as his grandson Keaton Leslie was born; he now had two little angels to put a smile on his face. Les treasured and loved his family and friends beyond description. He always said, “LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST, DO WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT TO BECAUSE THINGS CAN CHANGE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT”. Les loved to play pranks and didn’t even mind being at the receiving end of them. He was always able to bring huge smiles to everyone and was really a big kid at heart. Les enjoyed golfing very much. He was a member of Cottonwood Coulee Golf Course for many years. The majority of his weekends were spent having early morning breakfasts and golfing with the two “Larry’s”. Les would never pass up on an opportunity to go to Vegas or test Lady Luck at his favourite machine at any Casino that he may be fortunate to be at. He always enjoyed his vacations with family and friends. Les set goals in life. They didn’t have to be big goals, he simply used them to get past any hurdles he may face. No matter what challenge Les was facing in the later years with his health, he never lost his sense of humor. Les loved life no matter what cards he was dealt. Although we know he will be watching over all of us we sure are going to miss him… He leaves many special memories to cherish by his wife of 39 years, Janet “Jake”; his son, Travis Toth; his daughter, Jodi (Troy) Harkness; two grandchildren, Olivia Harkness (Peanut) and Keaton Harkness; his father, Leslie Toth Sr.; one brother, Andy Toth; three sisters, Susan (John) Vanden Elsen, Sandy Trousdell and Mary Ann Hostick; brother-in-law, Bryan (Emily) Reich; one niece and nine nephews, Monty, Jeff, Rob, Kristine, Trent, Ryan, Jordan, Riley, Matthew and Lukas; and his father-in-law, Don Reich. Les was predeceased by his mother, Mary Toth; two brothers, Joe Toth and Steven Toth; his mother-in-law, Mary Reich; and his dogs, Dexter and Taffy. A Come and Go Celebration of Les' Life will be held at SAAMIS CREEKSIDE CENTRE, 11 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Les' memory may be made to his grandchildren, Olivia and Keaton Harkness at the RBC Bank, Downtown Branch. Condolences may be sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Les Toth. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to
